IGPA
Iranian Graduate and Professional Association (IGPA) aims to support Iranian graduate students across the UCLA campus. We have established social media groups on various platforms with hundreds of members. Based on our estimation, the total number of Iranian graduate students at UCLA is approximately 200, encompassing various disciplines such as medical, non-medical, STEM, non-STEM, and others. Our primary focus is to organize gatherings throughout the year, enabling community members to connect with their peers and seek assistance or advice as needed.
These gatherings are particularly beneficial during the Fall quarter as they provide newcomers with comprehensive information, both academic and non-academic, and foster a sense of comfort by showcasing the willingness of individuals from similar backgrounds to lend support. For more detailed information on the establishment of this group/organization, please refer to our constitution. You can also visit our Instagram profile to explore past and upcoming events. We firmly believe that this organization plays a vital role in empowering the Iranian student community, facilitating their success in their academic pursuits.

Transportation from the Airport
Here is some information about how you can transport from Los Angeles international airport (LAX).
If this is your first time in the US, you probably do not have credit cards or car-sharing accounts (like Uber, Lyft, etc.). The best option is to get a shuttle (van) from LAX. Some shuttle services provide arbitrary destinations, and some others have pre-determined destinations. You do not need to reserve a shuttle in advance for most services, and you can pay cash.
Note: Check online for coupons, especially student discounts, if you plan to reserve online.
Shuttle Services
Shuttle services are cheaper (significantly shared rides) than taxis, and Uber rides at the airport. Please double check, sometimes you need to reserve a ride in advance.
Public Transportation
A public shuttle bus takes you from the airport to the Line 6 Culver City bus station for free. The bus will then take you directly to UCLA campus
