    • Set goals and plans for the team

    • Prioritize and define programs

    • Run the executive team meetings

    • Communicate with board members

    • Delegate tasks to team members

    • Support the team members in performing their tasks

    • Attend ISC board meetings

    • Plan and execute programs & tasks as assigned by President

    • Regularly communicate with the President & VP

    • Run regular meetings for your program

    • Coach and support volunteers

    • Assist with the execution of one or more programs as assigned by the President

    • Attend meetings as necessary to understand tasks and provide progress updates

Qualifications

  • Previous leadership experience

  • Organized, effective communicator, and reliable

  • Passionate about helping the Iranian community

  • Previous experience with ISC a plus

  • Previous experience as board member of a student org a plus

  • Enthusiastic about ISC goals

  • Based in California (preferred)

Type of Roles

  • Event Planning:

    • Plan in-person events (for example Community Circle) to connect students and alumni

  • Virtual Programs

    • Manage ISC’s online community to connect students and alumni

  • Social Media

    • Manage ISC’s social media to keep students and alumni informed about ISC programs and useful information

Becoming a board member is different than joining the executive team.

Board membership requires a minimum 3-year commitment and fundraising contribution among other things. Board members are typically selected from active leaders within the organization who have made a big impact in advancing our mission.
